Hearing Care
Otoscopic Examination
A physical examination of ear canal for ear wax, foreign objects, infections etc., ear drum for physical appearance, perforation/hole, ear discharge, fluid collection and middle ear status.
Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)
Basic hearing test to check the hearing sensitivity across the frequencies those are important for spoken communication. This procedure gives overall idea about the severity of hearing loss, possible cause of the hearing loss, monitoring the hearing sensitivity over a period of time, basic test to program hearing aids / amplification device.Â
New Born Hearing Screening (NHS): 1-3-6 Benchmark
The goal: All babies to have a newborn hearing screening by one month of age, ideally before they go home from the hospital; identified and diagnosed to have hearing loss by 3 months of age and enrolled in early intervention or treatment by the age of 6 months. JCIH 2019, suggests 1-2-3 timeline
Tinnitogram/Tinnitus Evaluation
A procedure to check the pitch (quality/frequency) of the tinnitus, its perceived loudness (intensity), whether the internal sound can be masked using external sound (minimal masking level) and the candidacy for sound therapy (residual inhibition).
When identified as a candidate for sound therapy, tinnitus retraining can be provided for individuals with normal hearing; those with hearing loss mostly gets relieved with consistent use of hearing aids / amplification device
Ear Protection Devices (EPD)
Protecting our precious ears from loud sounds not only in an industrial set up, but also during recreations like DJ party, pubs, exhibitions, cinema halls, musicians, bursting crackers swimming, travelling etc.
Custom made ear protection devices give best comfort and better protection than (foam) ear plugs
Vertigo Evaluation (Giddiness/balance disorder)
Procedures to detect the cause of the vertigo issues, including the basic hearing assessment and other physiologic test procedures.
Vestibular adaptation exercises, habituation exercises and repositioning manoeuvres will be provided for most of the peripheral vestibular / balance disorders.
Hearing Aid Trial (HAT)
Hearing aid selection based on individual's severity of hearing loss, listening environment / expectation, aesthetic appeal and usage will be chosen and tried. Appropriate hearing aid will be fitted to maximize the listening comfort and ease of communication.
